These galleries give you just a glimpse of the things that we've been up to. Loads has been happening, back to the days of the history project in 2006-7 and ever since!
- Coffee Morning
This seems like a very long time ago! This was an event we held back in November 2006 to show local people what the project was going to be about.
- Open Morning
In April, local people got to see behind-the-scenes of the Old Colliery Offices. Hundreds of people were given tours and talks, down cellars and up clocktowers!
- Education Work
See what we've been doing to spread understanding of mining heritage in this area. See Frank Ward and the children of Kiveton Meadows at the Roscars, where the school's "Frank's Mining Memories" won second place!
- Heritage Day
The open day which marked the end of our heritage week. Hard-working 'pit' ponies, volunteers and 19th century school children can been seen in this gallery, along with some of the 800 people who attended.
- Trips
From visits to archives and museums to venturing underground at the National Coal Mining Museum. See if you can spot Betty and Margaret grappling with a naked mannequin at the Rotherham Heritage Fair!
- Carnival
Oh, the sun has got his hat on... Which was more than Roger was wearing when we pushed him through the village in a tin-bath leant by the People's History Museum.
