Extensive collection of photographs showing the history of Kiveton Park & Wales. This large section contains photos that have been generously donated to the History Society for inclusion on this website. They have be separated into the Photo Archive, People's Museum and Digital Archive.
Oral Histories were an important part of the 2007 History Project. During this time, many people from Kiveton & Wales were interviewed about their life and experience of the area. This section also contains some of the other audio clips collected during the project.

Volunteers for the 1914 - 1918 war marching down to Kiveton Park station. the Kiveton Park Colliery Band, Bandmaster Mr George Henry Ross played them on their way. The band was made up of Mr Ross's sons and son in law. Mr Ross played every instrument he taught and formed the band. He died in 1922, the result of having a leg amputated due to an accident at the colliery. He is buried at Wales. The funeral being like one of royalty, the band leading the the funeral procession playing the Dead March. Mr Ross also taught and formed the Anston Silver Band.Other Details
